The mission of The Institute of Black Imagination is to ignite the curiosity, imagination, and creative potential of Black and brown visionaries across the world.

Chrysi has been a Board Member since 2020, advising founder & creative director Dario Calmese — the first Black photographer to shoot a cover of Vanity Fair with Viola Davis.

'The Institute of Black Imagination' podcast features creative visionaries such as the wonderful Carmen de Lavallade, the late Andre Leon (who was one of Dario's mentors), Rita Dove, Jon Gray, Hank Willis Thomas and so many more. Space 001, our concept store and library, opened in New York in October 2024 housing the personal archives of the iconic artist Geoffrey Holder — a blueprint for creativity for future creatives.

With a multidisciplinary approach and a steadfast commitment to community, we bring together writers, entrepreneurs, architects, astrophysicists, and more. By fostering collaboration and embracing diverse perspectives, we seek to explore, challenge, and reimagine — creativity as a gateway to limitless possibilities.
